Volvo are a Swedish company who no longer make cars, having offloaded that business to Ford who then got second thoughts and further offloaded it to Geely.
That left Volvo making trucks, buses and construction machinery.
Now they plan to sell off more of the family silver and have received a bid from a Chinese company for Volvo Bussar (yes, they make buses). They are also considering getting out of all or part of the construction equipment sector which will eventually reduce Volvo to their core, truck business.
So there we have it. A bit less Volvo.
Have a Volvo buss (yes, buss. Swedish) while we still can. Note the similarity to a McLaren F1 in one area.
Have a Volvo car, not made by Volvo
Have a Renault truck, which is made by Volvo

Capable of extreme hilarity with Rowan Atkinson behind the wheel? :D

They may not be Volvo, but at least it’s still a Swede at heart.

Geely is NOT making Volvo cars. Volvo cars has Geely funding but are more Swedish than ever now.

Nonetheless, AB Volvo don’t make cars and have no connection with the car maker except for shared use of the name and logo.

Nej.

And? The cars are Volvos. Designed and made in Sweden

That doesn’t change anything. I have 8 years with Volvo as not only a Master Tech but recently and Parts Master cert

Volvo Cars are designed and made by Volvo Cars Corporation in Sweden.

I don’t doubt it for a moment, but as I said the original Volvo company no longer makes cars in the same way as the original Renault company is no longer in the truck business, the original Rolls Royce company no longer makes cars and Peugeot SA have nothing to do with Peugeot coffee grinders.

indeed, but unlike Rolls Royce using a ton of BMW stuff, SPA Volvo Cars and all to follow are full Volvo of Sweden cars down to the powertrain. There is no Geely parts in Volvo Cars

Your resumee doesn’t change the fact that I am more swedish than Volvo. (Fun fact: the town I live in was a Swedish property longer than Volvo Personvagar was)

Fun fact: Sweden was a colonial power until they lost one war too many to the Russians.

Well at least someone is very happy in the middle of all this:
Yes, they put that phrase in the car show. At least their cars are getting better...
